Code of Conduct

Please follow these rules to ensure that your experience and the experience of others at this site will be a pleasant and rewarding one. These rules apply in all areas of this site, including the forums, comment sections and posts you your personal blog.

Only one user account per person.
Duplicate accounts will be banned or deleted if you register for more than one member account.

User Name guidelines.
For rather obvious reasons, please do not choose a User Name that has derogatory, religious, sexual, or racial connotations, or one that we consider to be vulgar, crass, or offensive. Accounts that violate this rule will be banned.

No profane, offensive, or flaming speech.
Lively discussions are encouraged but keep it a topical debate and not a name-calling contest. Remember that younger visitors and members use this site as well.

No spamming.
If you have something to say, say it once and wait a day or two for a response before you reassert yourself. If you think of some additional information, you should attempt to edit your post (if possible, as some forums do not allow editing) rather than add an additional post below it.

You should, for no reason, post just for the sake of it, or to pad out your post or comment counts. If you have nothing constructive to add to a subject, please hold your peace. Spammers will be warned and given every encouragement to reform. Infractions will be given to repeat offenders that may result in temporary or permenant bans.

No private conversations in our forums.
Our Private Messaging System is the preferred choice for narrow discussions between two members.

Absolutely no discussion of No-CD Cracks or Pirated Software.
While they might serve a legitimate need on occasions, No-CD Cracks are too often intended to aid software piracy, that is, to rip-off designers, publishers, and us honest folk. As such, we will amend or delete posts that even approach the subject. You will almost certainly be banned if you advocate their use or appear to be in favor of software piracy.

No excessive use of abbreviations or mobile phone and instant messaging shorthand text.
We have many members for whom English is not a first language and do not wish to confuse them. If your posts are utter gibberish, they will likely be amended or deleted.

Please use correct spelling and grammar.
While we understand that many members do not speak English as their first language, we still request that everyone tries his or her best to use the correct spelling and grammar in all of their posts as this ensures that they are easier to read for everyone.

Think before posting links to other places.
We do not mind people posting links to external places as long as they are specifically related to the topic of conversation where they are posted. For example, if a topic in our forums discusses a particular game, it would be perfectly acceptable to post links to sites offering updates (as long as they are legitimate sites).

Shameless promotion of another site is frowned upon .
In many cases, such posts will be deleted or the links will be removed. Any links to illegal sites (e.g. software cracks) or sites containing materials that break our Terms of Use will be destroyed and could get you banned. We encourage members to add useful hyperlinks to our links database. This way they can be properly maintained and are easily searchable. You can submit such links using the Submit Content links in the appropriate section. We ask members to refrain from putting links, other than to this website, in their signatures. External links have a habit of ceasing to exist and we want to avoid having broken links appearing all over our site.

Upload images directly to our forums where possible.
The use of image hosting sites is not advised. They have a persistent habit of restricting access to images, limiting bandwidth to images, or even deleting images. All of these scenarios would result in broken images in our forums and an unsightly mess for our visitors. To ensure that our forums do not become filled with broken images, we ask members to upload their images directly to our forums using the in-post “Add an Attachment” feature. Please visit the Forum FAQ’s for instructions on posting attachments. Please review our media upload guidelines before uploading any content.

No personal attacks on any member or moderator of this forum.
Such behavior will not be tolerated.

No harassment or posting of private information of another person or organization.
Should any such topics appear in our forums, they will be moved to the private staff area to quickly terminate the problem and users may be banned as a result.

You must protect your password and login information.
The responsibility of protecting your user account is in your hands. Keeping your password protect, and logging off the site are the user’s responsibility. If someone uses your account, with or without your permission, the user will be held responsible for the conduct of the account. Do not use the ‘Remember Me’ login feature if the computer terminal is shared or of public use.
