New studio, old story. A successful internet and iPhone engineer decides that the next stop in his career will be in designing and building iOS (and/or other mobile) games and apps. Finds a couple talented friend to join in. Not an original story, but this one starts in September, 2011, and ending hasn't been written yet.
Even though Greg, our technical founder, had already decided to take the plunge, he was attending an iOS gaming meetup in Santa Cruz where Limbic (creator of the hit Zombie Gunship among others) was presenting as they mentioned that they just wanted to make games they liked to play. That exactly sums up the direction we are taking for Skejo Studios.
We already find ourselves playing great table-top strategy and social games, and we love puzzler and platformers. Thus, the two main thrusts for our game inspiration with be:
1) Creating high caliber iPad/iPhone analogs of great table top games (with our own personal twists of course)
2) Creating original platform puzzlers and indirect platformer games.
We will be posting our initial two ideas shortly, and hope to give weekly development snapshots as we progress.
