BaboViolent 2 is a freeware game by a small game company called RndLabs. The game was released as a test of network software a little over a month ago. However, the fact that it was simply a test couldn't deter the dozens of people that flocked to play it. The game gathered a large following very fast, due in large part to the highly addictive gameplay.

BV2 is a top down shooter where you control a "Babo," a red or blue orb that rolls around the screen with one of six weapons attached to it. Getting into the thick of the action is as easy as joining one of the many active servers and hitting 'F'. (You will break this key on your keyboard... trust me.) You are immediately tossed into the action and start tossing grenades and molotov cocktails at the enemy babos.

The success of the game is due in large part to its very easy, immersive gameplay. However, game balance should also receive its due credit for the game's popularity. Damage settings, weapons ranges, firing rates, and medkits have all been tweaked to provide wonderful balance. There is no killer combination that runs the show... anyone and everyone is a contender with whatever weapon they choose to master. What really sets people above the rest in BV2 isn't the ability to kill, but the ability to stay alive.

So... go download this game, dive into the action, and have a great time. This is seriously the only game on my play list right now. Don't worry, though, the next version of BV2 to be released soon will have stat tracking and actual clan competition. Just get in while the getting's good and you might have some stats to be proud of when the tracking starts.
